How high are you running the motor? You want the cavitation plate to be at the surface of the water when on plane.

Rich, the motor is mounted in the third hole from the top on the motor bracket. I'm pretty sure the cavitation plate is where it needs to be, but i will check my next time out in a couple of weeks. As Joe said way back when i first got the boat and swapped the motors, "Duf how fast do you want to go"? I'm sure i could mess around with the prop and get a couple more knots out of her, but realistically, its not high on my list of boat things to do as over 50 really is fast enough and cruising between 35 and 40 is 99% of my time cooking on the water.
Now, that said when i finish Raggedy up and get her sold i will be moving up to a 25 Ouutrage with Whaler Drive, and when i do i will also more then likely repower with new twin E-TECS. That ought to be interesting! :D
