So after removing the forward floor panel to clean and inspect what my fuel tank looked like. I found a strange metal coupler in the fill hose. Any ideas? i noticed that it sits just where the panels meet and was wondering if it was there to keep the hose from rubbing. I'm finding lots of strange things the previous owner had done on his own. I was planning on just replacing both fill and vent hoses with out the coupler. On a positive note... discovered that I had the 129 gal tank not the 77 i thought. With my 150 Yamaha 4 stroke that will give me great range!

The new Yamaha looks great hanging on the stern. What year is your Revenge?

It appears to be either a collar to protect the hose or, someone spliced the hose and used the metal connector to joint the two ends.

It goes without saying the hoses should be replaced. I would ditch the part in question. ;)
