Hey guys:

I posted earlier about converting my Striper model to a center console, like a Montauk.

I've decided to go ahead with the project. I have considered building the console. I'm curious if maybe I could buy a Montauk console. Any ideas?

I looked in the downloads section to see if their were any plans for building a Montauk console, but didn't see anything.

Any advice would be appreciated. If any Montauk owners could provide me with some dimensions, Ii would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks.

I'm just found this site. I own a 69 Nauset with a custom built center console and a 25 outrage with an aftermarket console. I would recomend building one. If you can find a Suzuki catolog from about two years ago. It has the picture of Abe Cuang's montauk. He built the console and it work out perfect. I'm copying the design and building one for the nauset and outrage. I'll download it as soon as I can.

Thanks for the info.

Are you planning on fiberglassing it or is it going to be marine varnished wood?

You can still purchase one from BW, call Sue @ Twin Cities. Not sure what the price is but asking is free.

I have found a guy in Texas that is remaking the Montauk Consoles. He has both the 1986 to 1990 generation console and the newer style 1990 - 1991 like what was used on the outrages. Both are $850 and come with no holes cut in them. Here is his information.

I will most likely be doing a similar conversion on my 1990 GLS SS 17'. The super sport interior is not very practical for us fishermen. My rig needs a lot of work!
