Jim,

I did not think I needed them either however, my father bought a set for me on my birthday so I figured way not. After having them I could not imagine operating the boat without them. Agreed that these old shallow deadrise hulls can plane at much lower speeds than the large Outrages (my 22 was 14 - 16mph min) however, I found the tabs most useful in rough sea conditions. Being able to adjust the attitude of the hull made for a calmer ride.
