I have a 2019 Montauk 170 with the standard Karavan trailer. I would like to purchase a set of the “Rachet” type straps that mount to the trailer. I have seen other boaters, pull the strap up, hook it to the eye, and then just rachet them down tight.

The standard straps are not very user friendly, and more difficult with the transom ladder platform.

My question is what size or strength do I need? Any recommendations? Thanks.

I tried ratchet straps for the transom and found them to be more work.

I went with the standard type. Less adjusting and faster to deploy/remove.
