Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: Garmin for small whaler

I’m adding a garmin to the console my 1977 15’ whaler sport. A visible navigation screen is the priority over fish finder, etc. Used in a lake. I bought the Garmin echomap with a 6.2” screen but it’s really too big for such a small boat. Any recommendations for a smaller garmin that still has a decent sized screen for navigation?

(changed to full 4 digit year per guideline #1 at the top of this page.)

Try the Echomap 44cv.

I put a 9" Simrad on my 130 Super Sport. I guess you would say it's too big but I say the bigger the better when it comes to the nav/chart plotter.

Finally got a chance to test out the SIMRAD. It's great to have all those features (chart plotter, waypoints, depth, sonar, sidescan, fish finder, heading, etc)
