Does anybody know what material, and the manufacturer, Whaler used for the console floor surfacing in the 1974-1990 fiberglass center consoles in Outrages and Montauks?

It seems to be some kind of a dark brown heavy cloth type material, glued to the plywood floor.

If no one knows the answer, or it is no longer available, is there any other type of similar material that has been used, or could be suggested?

I think we can assess the material to be a dark brown vinyl material. I asked Henry Smith who worked at Boston Whaler 1958-1982 and he could not remember the supplier. The supplier may have been Art's Auto and Marine, Brockton, MA. You could give them a call and ask them if they supplied the material; they have been in business for 65 years (artsautoandmarine.com) and fabricated the original reverse pilot seat cushion and other cushions for Boston Whaler. Also take a look at automotive vinyl products like what is sold wholesale at KOVI fabrics (kovifabrics.com). You might find a sample that is very close to the original pattern-color material.

Larry-I was told a number of years ago by Tom C. that it was no longer available. So, safe to say it isn't. I have been using Nautolex Marine Vinyl Flooring, available at Defender Marine, for about $19 a yard. Much nicer than the original material-
