I have owned 7 Boston Whalers in my lifetime a sport 15, a Bass Boat 17, Outrage 18 with a single 140 Evinrude, Outrage 18 with twin 50hp Yamahas, 22ft Revenge with sea drives, 20ft outrage single 130 Yamaha, and a 23' Walkaround with twin 150 Yamahas. This week I purchased a 1972 Cohasset. Inexpensive with a 1995 Mariner 75HP with 126 hours in excellent condition. The boat was owned by the same owner since 1983. I'm going to replace the rub rail as it was modified to accommodate a down rigger bracket. Additionally, i have a small gel coat repair on the left side to take care of, otherwise the boat is in remarkably good condition. The Boat was always stored indoors and used on the Black river in Michigan. Unfortunately, the boat is bottom painted. The boat originally came equipped with a cooler seat at the helm position. The owner subsequently replaced the seat with a reversible pilot seat out of an Outrage 17 II. I'm considering replacing the seat with the original pilot seat from Specialty marine, and thoughts? Additionally, are the original tank mats still available?

I see this post is over a year old, but wonder how you came out on this project? I just purchased the same year and model. It needs substantial work and is a project boat, but these are super rare and different than anything else you see in my area. I would love to see pictures of yours if you still have it.
