I recently bought the boat and i m very happy with it. I note in the specs that it weighs 1030 pounds. The 17 foot outrageII, 1996 is only slightly bigger but weighs in at 1700 pounds. Why the big difference? Did they just beef up the glass or is it designed differently. Jim, Onward

The Outrage 17 model was produced with two different designs.
Outrage 17 I - 1990-1995. Classic Outrage hull.
Outrage 17 II - 1996-1999 Post Classic and Accutrack hull.
Welcome to the Outrage 17 I club. We are a few but proud lot. I liked mine so much, I bought another one. I ran a 1991 off the Maine coast for 7 years. I bought a 1992 model this past January .

Been away for awhile. I'm glad to hear Phil is back on board! Love my 17' outrage! It's the little boat who could!
