First post to this great forum.

I have used "Plast-Dip" to coat the RPS rod holders on my 1984 Outrage 18'.
See attached pics, feel free to view my Personal Page for additional pics.

(Haven't figured out how to properly insert pics to a thread yet)

Did you remove the rod holders to coat them? If so, how do they come out?

Phil T - Thanks for the comments on my Outrage. I am the third owner, have had it now for 2 months.

action - Short answer is yes I removed the RPS rod holders to coat them. I did a complete re-build so to speak on the RPS... new seat cushion from Specialty Marine and stripped the tired varnish off and refinished the teak with Amazon's Golden Teak Oil (5 coats), new stainless fasteners etc. Threw the whole tool box at that chore, but it was fun. The Plasti-Dip coating is easy to do and cheap. I put 3 coats on, but could have stopped at 2. I like the final result and recommend it.

One important thing I forgot to mention - I left the original inserts in place and coated over them.

Again, see my personal page for how everything came out. I like the black color.
