Thread subject: Whaler Central - Boston Whaler Boat Information and Photos :: STORAGE on a small WHALER

Ahoy! 2015 150 Super Sport. I'd like to hear about or see pictures of all the creative storage products and methods used by my fellow small-Whaler enthusiasts. I have a plastic tote under my console, a big Pelican suitcase under the console (filled with tools/emergency gear), two tiny Pelican boxes in the dash, and the front anchor locker. That's it ...

I need something for keeping handy some things: my portable VHS radio. My sunglasses. My phone. Etc etc.

Would also be nice to be able to store (dry) a jacket, my wife's purse, etc.

Thinking of something that loops over the rail with velcro, or those suction cup storage units.

Please tell and post pics if you got 'em and know how ...

THANKS,

Bill

Kayak/canoe drybags. Cascade Designs is one manufacturer. Roll them down to seal, then Fastek clasp them around a rail.
Coolers also work just fine.

On our Sport 13 we use a couple of plastic milk crates. One is for things we always use while on the boat. The second has gear we use only while fishing. Most of our use of the boat is for cruising and piddling around so having the fishing specific gear on board only for fishing allows us some extra room most of the time.

Our emergency power (paddle) stows very nicely between the side rail and the console and is held in snugly by the steering cable.

5 gallon bucket with a threaded sealable top. I made a bench seat in the back that is just the right distance from the back for 1 5 gallon bucket to fit snugly on each side. 1 is for dry storage and 1 is for bait.

What about a second factory cooler on port side rear, there is built in Mount for it there.

That second cooler would be perfect for dry storage.

I bought a couple soft coolers that fit perfectly under the seat on my Currituck/custom. For other stuff like tools, charts, flares or anything that must stay dry, I still use a large plastic pretzel container.

It is clear, waterproof and if needed can hold water.

The portable VHF (not vhs) should be clipped to your PDF,

Phone in pocket.

Sunglasses on croakies around your neck.
