I removed the floor on my 1983 GTX-18 and need to remove the sealer that remains along the edges. I'll probably get most of it off with a razor blade but is there a product on the market that will make the cleanup a little easier? Will acetone remove sealant?

You could try Xylol, if they still sell it, its THE strongest paint solvent that was available. Maybe try wet sanding using a very high grit sand paper by hand as to not wear into the fiberglass too much?

I used a kitchen scrubbing sponge. It rubbed off the silicone without hurting the gel coat. I did it dry.

Sometimes a new sharp wire brush works well,
kinda at a 45 degree angle,
it'll cut it clean without scratching too bad.

Walt, I'll give the basic kitchen scrubber a shot first and then go from there. I learned that Interlux 202 or acetone will soften up the sealer but I'd need to wash it down with soap and water to keep the solution from softening up the gelcoat.

The pad I used is a "Scotch Brite Dobie" pad.

OK thanks. I looked up that product online and was able to see a photo of what you are referring to. I'll give that a shot. It looks like I won't risk scratching up the gelcoat.
