I didn't miss the 2001.
I mention it 2 times in that post.

Bottom line:
The Outrage 21 seemed to have gained weight in the Boston Whaler catalogs from model 2000 and beyond which includes 2001.
(maybe the 1999 year as you mention)

I agree that something is not right but only Whaler can tell us why the boat gained weight.

I personally think they added something that made it weigh more but that would just be a guess.

Here would be just another guess:

1993 Outrage 21 = 2500 pounds
1994 Outrage 21 = 2500 pounds
1995 Outrage 21 = 2500 pounds
1996 Outrage 21 = 2500 pounds
1997 Outrage 21 = 2500 pounds
1998 Outrage 21 = 2500 pounds
1999 Outrage 21 = 3000 pounds (possible correction)
2000 Outrage 21 = 3000 pounds

Are the earlier 21' models the same as the 1999 and later?
Or did something change in 1999? or 2000?

EDIT:
Upon a little more research of this model.
In 1999, there was a change. The boat lost 2 inches in length down to 21' 7".
The 1998 and earlier models were 21' 9" in length.
It also appears that the console changed for the 1999 year. Not positive if it was all 1999 year models or a mid year change. So it might have been a transition year for consoles and/or the length of the hull from 1998 and earlier.
The hull change and the console change appears is why the weight went from 2500 pounds to 3000 pounds.
It could be that something is different with the 1999 year model or the catalog is wrong with the listed weight of 2300 pounds which doesn't match the earlier or later models.
