I bought a 2004 Montauk 170 with a 4 stroke 90hp Mercury a couple years ago. It has been a perfect family boat. I have pulled kids (& adults) on tubes without difficulty. I am very confident in the boat and reasonably confident in the outboard despite its age. I would recommend the Montauk 170 without reservation.
