I'm tempted to try one. As I age and arthritis advances I find it more difficult to use my boat. After a few hours at the helm if I'm even slightly dehydrated my hands begin to cramp up. The ramp I most often use requires quick maneuvering as it is at 90 degrees to the tiny bayou used to make an approach.

Perhaps mounting the ball so it is on the inside edge of the wheel would make it less of an issue during routine maneuvering. As my primary boat has hydraulic steering the mechanical advantage of having the ball on the outside edge is not needed.
