I have a question.. I am rehabing an old whaler.. Are the mats under the fuel tanks original or are they something the previous owner added?

Likely original see here: http://www.whalercentral.com/photogal...oto_id=698m

If you need new ones contact Sue Lodell at Twin Cities Marine.

50 pushes the boat about 36mph wot with a moderate load. Im pleased with the performance. That said if I were repowering I would get a 60 or a 70 for the relatively small price differential and I would probably get the Yamaha F70.

See here for choices: http://www.whalercentral.com/articles...icle_id=77

The highest power available in 2-stroke is the Evenrude E-Tec 60. Pay close attention to the weights. The Yamaha F70 is only about 17lbs heavier than the E-Tec 60

Also Tohatsu makes a 4-stroke 60 that similar in weight to the E-Tec 60
