Hi,
We had to remove the floor of our 1984 Outrage in order to remove the leaky gas tank.

In putting the floor back, do we need to use an adhesive (e.g., caulk, double sided tape, or something similar) between the floor and the boat?

Thanks in advance for any advice and guidance.

Follow the way Boston Whaler sealed the floor. I removed my fish locker deck cover and saw Whaler did an adhesive/sealing strip in the middle of the flooring (bearing on a center piece). None along the perimeter by the seams/screws. You caulk that seam from above after installing. I would venture to say that if you decide to seal all the underlayments bearing areas for extra protection....it would be dang near impossible to remove the floor to get in there again. Tough enough for me to remove the fish locker cover (pounded in different size shims) without the perimeter sealed in place. I used "Boat Life" sealant.
