I have finished testing the F 40 LA on my 13'. I starting at the three holes up position. That was a crazy ride. Tested every position. Boat is only stable with the motor mounted all the way down (bolt in first top hole). I recorded the following numbers with a Command Link tachometer and my I Phone for a speed. 3000/15 MPH, 3500/19 MPH, 4000/23 MPH, 4500/28 MPH, 5000/30 MPH, 5500/34 MPH. I am using a 10 1/2 X 12 performance series Yamaha SS propeller. The boat rises out of the hole and planes very quickly. Lays flat all speeds and is safe and stable. Plenty of free board and, slowing quickly i did not flood the transom. I tested the boat with my normal fishing outfit. Six gallons of fuel strapped to the deck on dry mat next to the console, front seat removed (leaves more room for fishing), Odyssey battery rubber mounted below the console and, a 20lb. mushroom anchor on a mat behind the bow locker. Life preserver and throw cushion under the console. I use the boat for fishing by myself. It fishes in shallow water and paddles well (sneaky). I need the bigger motor to travel to/from my favorite fish holes. It makes a difference. Stability is very important so i can stand up while fishing. This package fits very well.
