Yes, I talked to Boston Whaler about this hull also.
This hull was actually built in mid to late 1972 from the Stencil number.
Most hulls during those days sat on the lot and did not get an HIN number until the boat was shipped.
Your hull either sat on the lot or was used for demonstrating or engineering purposes etc. before it eventually got its HIN tag about 2 years after being built.

Your stencil number is actually right after 00856 in this list but your HIN is much later.

This hull is the winner for staying in Boston Whalers possession before getting an HIN tag that I have seen.
That is why it is always good for the members to give us both the stencil and HIN numbers.
Gives us more information knowledge to deal with.
