The "crook" is the forward curved tubing in front of the windshield, assuming we are talking about a classic Montauk. I had the 72qt cooler and Whalerbob is spot on. There just wasn't enough room on either side. I switched up to the 94qt. a little taller and wider, depth is the same. I would want the 94qt even if the crook had been removed.
