Hello, I was wondering if anyone here has a newer Tohatsu 40 hp (208 lbs.) on a 1960's 13' Whaler? If so, are you happy with it? I am aware of the concerns about transom weight and that's why I am asking about this motor specifically. Thanks.

This seems to be the perfect motor for a classic 13. It will be the one I get when my trusty evenrude blows up in another 10 years...
Can't wait to see who chimes in with performance info.

Yeah, my only concern is the weight especially with pwr TnT. I've seen pictures on this site of member geo's boat with a Tohatsu 40 but I wasn't sure if that was the older model that only weighs 158 lbs. It looks great in the picture, not transom heavy at all. Thanks for your reply.
