Phil,
Thanks for the starting dimensions. So with a 7" "throw" for height, a safe starting point for adjustments (the hydraulic feature gives me flexibility) could be at 1 1/2" above the keel. This would allow me to raise it 8 1/2" above the keel in the topmost position. Not particularly a height I would be running a 200hp HO E-tec wide open.

I have the propeller that Tom Clark advised for my boat is "Mercury Marine Mirage Plus 48-90159 17p x 15 1/2". I have yet to try it and have no idea what the numbers mean.

When measuring the keel line, do you take a straight edge off the bottom of the boat or put a level on the keel?
