We have owned a 13 and a 18 outrage and while looking for a larger Outrage we found one with the cuddy cabin and a whaler drive. We had never seen the cabin version nor a whaler drive and while is seemed a bit odd we choose to buy it. We just completed re powering and cleaning it up. For the past few months we have been searching for information on this model and have not found much.

Are production numbers for the different BW models available
Was this a un popular model
Was the wood an extra in 1989
Was the cuddy a extra add on cost when in production
I understand from this site the whaler drive was a additional cost and assume it was not a very popular add on
Anyone have a brochure from 1989

We welcome any information this model

The Outrage 22 Cuddy WD is not odd. Unique, yes. I think it is one of the neatest models, next to the Revenge 22 Cuddy.

A 1989 Outrage 22 Cuddy owner (Kurt Gett) who ordered his in the fall of 1987 for spring of 1989 delivery reported there were no options but rather different models for the Outrage 22 WD and Cuddy variants.

It most likely filled the niche between the Outrage 25 (for center console) and the Revenge 22 WT.

There are no production numbers for Boston Whalers so it is hard to know how "popular" they are.

A Outrage 22 WD is almost an Outrage 25 in LOA but not in other specs/features. It could be a bit confusing for new purchasers.

Having been on both there is a significant difference between the two but it is hard to see when looking at them side by side.

Congraulations, BTW.

I have a 1989 22' cuddy with no Whaler drive. The cabin is just a simple piece of fiberglass that is caulked and screwed to the standard outrage hull as far as I can tell. Mine also has teak covering boards and hatches, but does not have the fish boxes at the transom as it is set up for standard outboard. It has 200 hp Yamaha 2-stroke from the same year and is fast enough but very thirsty. I imagine that your motor is more than you will ever need and from the pictures the weight seems to not make it stern heavy.
When I get time I will try to add pictures to my page as it currently shows only 1 of my 4 Whalers.
Don't bother commenting, I am already in counseling.

I have the "other 22'" Outrage which is the Revenge (1979 22'). I love the front bow enclosed for storage and weight transfer. Enjoy your boat. The "odd" look that drew you to the boat is an enhancement. Work with your ideas.
