Have a 16' 1966 Custom that was originally a Nauset. I need the hull weight because I am considering the purchase of a Micro Anchor produced by Power Pole. This anchor is made for boats up to 1500 pounds. Thanks

The hull weight was approximately 700-800 lbs when new.
Add battery, fuel, motor and gear and you are at 1500 lbs easy.

Looks pretty undersized to me but I am ocean guy.

I did not ask you if you thought about the anchor system. just hull weight. Ocean Guy

I believe the bare hull weight of the 16' hull, 1974 and earlier, was 500#. When equipped as a Nauset interior, the weight was shown as 750#.

Nice way to thank a guy who took the time to answer your question. If you only wanted the weight, there was no need for you to mention the anchor system in your original post, either!

Sorry to agree, but any reply should be answered with a "Thanks for responding". Other wise you will find no response at all.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. Maybe the guy just has poor forum social skills and didn't mean to come across that way. ???

I thought this post was very disrespectful.
When I was a moderator on the Jayco camper forum, he would have gotten 1 warning, post deleted and next time he would have been banned.

Interesting that Power Pole is using an anchoring system similar to a Talon. Talons are higher priced than the Micro Power Pole. For the extra money on a Talon you get wave absorption which compensates for waves moving your hull up and down. It appears that a Micro PP is fixed and leaving it susceptible to be broken easily.

But I'm an ocean guy with a Nauset, What do I know?
