#1 The sealant for the motor mounting bolts is important where the bolt and transom meet. Under the washer or bolt head area is key.

If the sealant is dried out, I would add a small layer for added protection and add resealing the bolts for the Fall to-do-list. You can remove 1 bolt at a time, no motor removal necessary. I would do it yourself. It is so easy, a yard would mess it up.

2) Yes, cut and reinstall the fitting. Use stainless clamp. Is the hose recent? Alcohol resistant? If it is a grey color, replace in the fall.
