I'm trying to find out the original color of the interior gelcoat for a 1973 Montauk. Just bought a 1973, that I originally thought was a custom, but the more I look at it, I believe it may be the real thing. It has the winged console and a RPS. I know these can be added, but they look to be factory.

Here are the genuine Montauk models.

Montauk's never had a blue interior.

If you are patching you will most probably have to tinker with the color.

I'd like to see your hull & stencil numbers if you have a 1973 Montauk. The ones recorded on this site are here, so add yours >>>

Thanks for the come back, Joe. The guy I bought it from said he bought the boat from an old man that bought it new. He said that the original owner was a real bird and he had the interior gel coated blue because that the way Whalers should look. I'm going to scrap off gel coat from the motor well and check it out. I'll put some pics up in a couple of weeks. Thanks, Bob
