I was not sure where to post this so figured this was as safe a spot as any. I'm continuing my work on my 1976 Montauk and one area I'd like to start planning to repair is my console. I have an original console but it's full of holes and more upsetting spider cracks (not like the ones in the hull) that I can't cover. Any suggestions how to repair/cover/fix the console?

I'm planning on redoing the wood, raplacing the star board used on the front for the steering and switches but am at loss for my options for the top of the console. I tried searching but couldn't find much.
