My steering cable is about 16 to 17 ft in length.

Whats minimum length of controls i can get away with. 14? Center console thru floor to motor.

I ask because i found a motor with controls, a
Stillattached to a boat, so i cant really mesure them. Thanks.

I did a site search, some people talk about 17-19 foot, for a bend that follows the steering cable to clean up the install,

What about a straight line shot? Minimum length under the floor an up to console.

I cant afford to spend money on a new harness,

Sorry for typos, im using a cell phone to type.

No excuses for the grammar .

Control cables are cheap compared to the cost of a boat.
No mater what length they are. A few dollars one way or the other.
Buy the correct length that suites your needs and your boat.

You cannot run a straight cable for the steering. Period.
It has to go to the starboard side and then into the tilt shaft of the motor.
17' or 18' foot cable is correct.

Thanks joe, i will, i did a search and said i needed to be logged in, but idk my password, its saved on my phones browser.

When i say controlls, i may be wrong, but is that just the cables that control the throttle as well as f-n-r ? Or does controls include engine harness/ignition?

Cheap they are compared to a motor an boat, however im the guy who cant afford to boat, but i still try.

Navy enlisted salary doesnt support classic whaler lifestyle and fishing.
