I need to replace some, possibly a lot of foam in my 11" Whaler. A member awhile back had published the brand name and recommended a particular foam for this. I can't find the post and must have deleted my bookmark. Any help will be appreciated.

Whaler recomends using 4# foam rather than 2# foam.

You have two choices, depending on how easy the spot is to get too, if you can, i would tape off around the spot. Mix the foam in a plastic mixing cup and pour it into the opening. If it's too large or hard to do that you can pour the foam into any container you can extract it from, personally i use well washed tray from frozen dinners. Do not let the liquid foam get on anything you really care about, the only way to remove it once dried is to sand it off. I have some photo's in my 13 foot project album.

I hope I am wrong, but it is starting to look like 75% of an 11'. Having a hard time figuring out where to start. Did you cut out a large piece of the deck and just start digging?

I cut out basically all the deck of my 13 foot. Then i went to work digging out the foam. The best tools too use are a wire brush clucked into a drill and a shop vac.

I do have to ask, how much water do you think she is holding? Have you weighed the boat? The 11 foot standard should weight 210# The reason I ask is that typically it's not worth cutting the deck, grinding out the foam, refoaming and redoing the fiberglass/gelcoat. Mine is a project boat, and while I would love the have the project done and end my project album on a good note, i bought it to learn about repairing whalers. I have learned a ton, mostly by doing and redoing stuff. Thankfully where the boat is has no HOA rules or I would have been in violation for years.
