What length throttle cables is correct for a 1985 Boston Whaler Striper? Mercury 50 hp, if that matters.

Mine appear to be 9'. The object is to have the cables "loop" before they go into the motor. Mine do somewhat but a professional boat rigger would have probably used 11' cables and made the loop.
