I too am converting a 1986 BW17 Super Sport to a custom center console configuration. I will have a OE RPS with two portable 6 gallon gasoline tanks installed underneath. I drilled my hawse-hole at circa 36 inches forward of the sump.

Your location of 26 inches forward of the rear sump is good, since you plan to use a single large capacity fuel tank and you will install a lean post. The measurements for the placement of your non-OE console look good, with the caveat that the console should not be fastened onto the smooth section of the deck (where non-skid is not present).
