i know they are a sponsor but there is no customer service.they made a terrible error on the sport interior package i bought and are not willing to make good on it .buyer beware . what they show in the pics they post is not what you will get . even after you specify what your restoration intensions are. sorry guys no one likes a whiner im just trying to make sure it doesnt happen to you.

I would suggest you talk to Eric.

i bought the stachion plates to go with the stainless rails. They started rusting immediately and stained the boat up.

i feel your pain. at least you didnt have a big hole in your seat clamp that will cost more in shipping than its worth.

Harry R,

Can you tell us exactly what you purchased from Specialty Marine?
Give us the link and tell us exactly what the problem is.

From what you are saying, one of the side seat clamps has a hole in it?

That hole in the seat clamp might be where the steering cable goes through.

Knowing that there is a place to buy classic whaler parts is great but I agree that specialty marine's customer service leaves much to be desired. I bought a cooler seat cushion for a 48 qt. Cooler and they sent me one for a 72. I had to email pictures of the tape measure on the cushion before they would believe that they made a mistake in shipping me the wrong one.

Wow,
I'm surprised by this. I've had nothing but good luck with them. Contact Chris and he will make it right!

I have always dealt with Eric so I am not sure what Chris does.

Always good to know who is who. Maybe either one of them can let us know a little more here.

I've always dealt with Eric too.....he was responsive and the order was perfect. This seems to be very unusual for SM.

Harry, gotta call Eric and give'em a try to right it for you, he shipped me a new lift eye set, without even asking, because I complained mine were "too scratched" and the polish was dull. I've never had anything but a great experience. Wish you luck, sorry for your troubles.

Harry,

I am glad you got it fixed.

However, you never answered my question #6 above that was directed to you, so we have no idea what problem you had. And still don't.

We purchased a stern seat for a 17' Whaler recently from Specialty Marine. The color of the wood was "blonder" than we wanted and quite frankly, didn't match the original wood well at all. I contacted them for a remedy and they bent over backwards to make it right. I have heard mixed reviews on their chrome items, but I have a set of replacement nav lights for my 25 and they also look great. I've not had one problem dealing with them. There was probably just a miscommunication along the way. Like I said - they shipped a new seat to us and paid the return shipping on the first one we received - for free. That earns them the benefit of the doubt in my opinion.
