Does anyone remember West Shore Marine? Are they still around? I bought a 23' Revenge in 1988 and a 25' Revenge from them in 1989. Just curious.

Moved thread from the General forum to the "Great Lakes" forum section.

Never heard of a 23' Revenge. Is that a typo?
Should be a 22' Revenge.

Yup,
Typo, but what's a foot or two between friends. Actually for whatever the reason I have always used 23' for that boat. It did have a Whaler Drive so maybe that is why I called it a 23. Too long ago to remember. Thanks for the heads-up!

West Shore closed their doors in 07 or 08 I believe.

Thanks Jeff,
It seems they always had a good stock of Whalers. They had a 31' with Cummins Diesels that I really liked, but could not afford. Also a 25' or a 27' with inboards. Tom, I think it was, said "If I ever meet the Devil on the water, I want to be in that 31".
Thanks again Jeff,
Fred s

I believe they've been out of business for quite some time. My 1978 Montauk which I still have was bought new there. $4400.

Fred - Tom Crum closed West Shore Marine at least ten years ago, and the site is now home to a Condominium complex. I did not know your boat came from there. Being in greater chicago, he also quoted my 1989 Outrage 25, but was not competitive with Florida pricing I was able to obtain. Crum was one interesting character!

Perhaps you recognize my boat?

I think I remember you from the Whaler 1993 Abaco trip. It's pretty hard to forget that brutal 180 mile crossing from West Palm Beach in early May 1993. We were the first group in at 2AM the following morning, and I had only 5 gallons of fuel left.

West Shore no longer exsists. They sold the property a while back nad there are condos on the property. I purchased a few used Whalers, myself over the years. Outraged

I also purchased a Whaler there. They sold the land which is now condos. The son who was the mechanic has his own repair business by Douglas – Randy’s West Shore Marine Repair – he’s good at what he does, and I still deal with him.
