You do NOT want to use Quad. That stuff never really fully sets up and stays tacky which makes to great for sealing things like siding, doors and windows, but it would nor be good for sealing the seams in the deck of a Boston Whaler.
Many Boston Whalers had the fuel tank cover sealed at the factory with silicone caulk. My 1983 Outrage 18 had clear silicone. My 1988 Revenge 25 was sealed at the factory with tan polyurethane caulk.
