My 1979 Montauk, 90 HP Yamaha 4 stroke, galvanized trailer, 26 gal fuel, T Top, Tow Rail, cooler and all other gotta haves weighs 2300. I tow it with my 2001 6 cylinder Jeep Wrangler with manual trans. The Jeep has 50,000 on it now at 9 years old and even in hot Florida weather has never had a problem. The 4 door is rated at 3500 with my 2 door only 2000. Be prepared to change the front brakes sooner. I had to at 30,000. I use a Chock at the boat ramp with the hand brake on and engine 0ff in 1st gear. Otherwise it will be less of a problem for you with a longer wheelbase.
