I am in the market for an older 13 foot whaler and I have seen some photos of a 1972 "Soupuss" 13 foot whaler whose layout really appeals to me. My question is this, if I find a decent standard 13 foot whaler can I "Convert" it to a sourpuss model? Are there after market parts that will allow me to install the rail that runs right behind the seat and mahogany kits that will allow me to set it up with center steering, etc. or were those features special to the sourpuss and can't be installed on a bare bones 13 footer? Any input on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you !

Yes, plenty of options to do with the interior. Specialty marine and Nautical lumber have the parts to what you're looking for, they're also sponsors here on this site.

You won't have any problem conveting to a sourpuss. I used Nautical Lumber to convert my '79 15' sport to a supersport and am very happy with the interior I got from Mike.

Sal,
All the 13 foot hulls are basically the same. You can drop any interior in them you want. The key is to find a dry hull and the best way to do that is to weight the boat. don't rely on picking up a corner of the hull off a trailer to ensure it's dry.
