If you look in the buck book under 16' whalers you will see a huge difference between pre 1968 and 1968 and newer hulls. I believe the early gelcoat was somehow flawed or too thick which can result in severe gelcoat cracking. I have looked at two different pre 68 hulls that the gelcoat was cracked so bad it looked like a mosaic, not spider cracks. And the 1967 hull I just bought was regelcoated but I could see a spot where it had the same thing even though none of those three hulls were waterlogged. The buck books don't list the 13' hulls but if you check the 16' values they are pretty steady through the years until 1968 then they jump up a lot then remain steady after that. Does anyone out there have a explanation ?
