Have reviewed hull threads .63-64 13sport. UNfortunately on roller trailer last 6-7 years. Tapping reveals delamination from both sides of keel extending from 3 feet from bow bottom paint line to midship about foot on each side of keel. Complicated by puncture wound about 4.5 inches in diameter under console showing dry brown foam material underneath .Without aggressive prying not certain extent of delamination but nothing similar to keel delamination. Complicated by transom -hull joint fiberglass pealing but that has not presented problem in waters of Lake Superior .
Questions:
1.Have not read of delamination in anterior third keel region ,was smaller region 4-5 yrs ago and was still percussing out seemingly without water in between after summer in water. Others experience in this area?
2.Reviewed threads on products but immediate question for time being is seemingly puncture wound under console, without aggressive exploration thinking of injecting around inside perimeter and sealing then patching as no gross delamination by tapping.Delusional?
3.Purchased in 67 , lifetime migration from Montauk to Puget Sound, cooler water somewhat more intimidating after 40 yrs .Worth afew thousand to do it again but does anyone have rough idea of feasability /cost of repairing this degree of delamination ? Currently plan patching and planning on progressively warmer water trips before challengeing it but would spend afew thou to get it back. Appreciate ball park estimates re cost or confirmation of psychiatric attachement problems.Anyone rec yard in Seattle for Whalers? Thanks.
