Try as I may, I was unable to successfully fix the connection on my 7 year old Tempo fuel tank I wrote about earlier this year. So I bought the Moeller 25 gal version which is in place and working, with several "work arounds" as we call it my industry. First & foremost, the fuel gage is in the fuel cap with your typical floater gage. As you can imagine, this doesn't work under the RPS of an 89 whaler (I will write/call Moeller over this). That's OK as the old Tempo tank cap fits fine. The new Moeller tank is made to the current ethenol specs but surprisingly is slightly lighter in color and therefore you can see your fuel level thru the wall. I like simple. The fuel line connection is aluminum and it swivels which is smart. You will need a longer threaded connection to get to the side of the tank for your fuel line. Which brings us to the other workaround. The old Tempo tank had a moderate indention on the bottom which facilitated bringing the fuel line up thru the Whaler OEM cutout under the tank. The Moeller does not, so I have to cut a hole large enough to feed and run the line up to the elbow connection. The deck composition is very impressive when you pry it out of the hole saw. I actually used an electrical power box flanged sleeve w/4200 to protect the line from the sharp edges of the deck hole. Worked out great. So, with a couple of not so difficult workarounds, the Moeller tank is in place and working well, and we're back in the water.
