I owned 3 boats at the same time.

1. 1978 Montauk 17'
2. 1997 Outrage 17' II
3. 1985 Outrage 18'

I owned the Montauk 17' for 15 years and was looking for something just a little larger and also with a smoother ride.
I purchased the 1997 Outrage 17' II to try and replace the Montauk.
However, I missed the Classic look and feel so I then purchased the 1985 Outrage 18'...
My wife and I kept trying the different boats out. After awhile, we found that the boat we always wanted to take out was the Outrage 18'....
So, we ended up selling the other two.
Since then, I have owned a 1989 Outrage 20' and a 1989 Outrage 22' Cuddy and another 1986 Outrage 18' with twin engines.

Although all the boats were great, for our all around use, we found the 1985 Outrage 18' with a single main engine and a kicker motor to be our final choice and one that fit our needs the best.

Keep looking, but be ready to jump when you find one in good condition.
I saw mine on Yahoo search or something similar, the next day I was in Idaho with a Certified Bank Check...

Good Luck
