Wow, that's really a shame the transom was cut like that. It is obvious it was a modification because the shape of the notch is different than the factory smirked 15" hull.

It also looks like more than 5 inches was notched out. You actually only need about 3" of drop to make a 15" motor work on a 13 with a 20" transom.

It is also fairly obvious if a motor is a short shaft or a long shaft. If yo are not familiar with the visual differences, measure the distance from the AV (cavitation) plate to the underside of the mounting clamps or hooks. A 15" Short shaft will measure ~16" to 17-1/2" while a 20" Long will measure ~ 21" to 22-1/2".
