We have a 1987 17' Montauk which is used primarily in the Keys or Ft. Myers areas in saltwater. We live in middle TN, where the shops are used to freshwater boats and don't seem to understand our needs. Would like to find a reliable repair shop somewhere off I-75 in GA, or FL that we could take our boat to and leave it if need be. Looking at some major work including a new engine and want it done right. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks,
Mamaz3

Contact this guy, he lives in Tampa, and has several whalers, and he can probably recommend someone. I am over in Daytona, so not on your route.

Tell him Tommy sent you.

Mamaz3- Check out Gwinnett Marine in Buford, Ga. They have worked on my 15 foot center console, and installed a new E-TEC on my Menemsha. Not the cheapest game in town, but professional, reliable. You get what you pay for. I know quite a few folks that use them without a complaint.-k
