Member Posts: 5 Comments: 0 Joined: 10/29/17	We currently have a Yamaha 150 TXRQ engine on our Whaler. We'd like to add a 9.9HP kicker on it. Ideas regarding best way to do this? It appears that there is very little area to do it.

I have always steered with the main for the most part, however, I'm going to try and link the two next summer. Steering with the main works well in relatively calm conditions, but when it's windy it has it's limitations. Trolling doesn't really require a lot of gross corrections, so the main works fine as a rudder. However, I bought a place in Florida on a canal and it would be nice to drive out on the kicker to avoid hitting anything with the expensive stainless prop on the main.
