Replacing the wood on my 11' Super Sport and am having trouble removing the spool from the end of the steering shaft. There seems to be a brass pin that goes through the shaft and seems to be keeping it attached but I can't figure out how to remove it as there is no notch for a screwdriver. Any help would be appreciated.
Have tried to attach a photo but it keeps rejecting my attempts even though the file size is 120kb. Can email anyone who wants to see it.
got the steering wheel off and pulled out a cotter pin in the shaft that was between the top of the console and the wheel. However, on the helm side there is still a pin that protrudes from the shaft on one side and is flush on the other that prevents the shaft from retracting. On the spool side of the shaft, I loosened a “1 nut on the neck above the spool, but that seemed to do was hold angled flange flush to the bottom of the console. Any idea on what I need to do next to disassemble it completely?
