I am the third owner, have had it now for 2 months. action - Short answer is yes I removed the RPS rod holders to coat them. I did a complete re-build so to speak on the RPS... new seat cushion from Specialty Marine and stripped the tired varnish off and refinished the teak with Amazon's Golden Teak Oil (5 coats), new stainless fasteners etc. Threw the whole tool box at that chore, but it was fun. The Plasti-Dip coating is easy to do and cheap. I put 3 coats on, but could have stopped at 2. I like the final result and recommend it.
