my hull number plate was lost during restoration. Local authorities only have 11 characters in their documents. To add to the story the stenciled number is also gone, The numbers that i have are BWZ823CM84A.
Boston Whaler told me they can't help me with the information provided>

Any ideas?

OK.
To begin with, all HIN numbers for Boston Whaler start with:
BWC = Boston Whaler Corporation

http://www.whalercentral.com/articles...icle_id=61

If I were to guess, I would guess the Z is a 2 as it seems you are missing a number.
We can't tell you exactly what your number is, but it would appear to be something very close to this:
BWC2823CM84A (12 digits no spaces)
BWC 2823 C M 84 A (spaces added for clarification)

The 2823C numbers would follow in sequence right behind rjstox1 in this list:
http://www.whalercentral.com/articles...cle_id=109

BWC
2823
C (series of sequence numbers, A, B, C, etc.)
M (Model Year Format)
84 (Year Model is 1984)
A (month and year of manufacture = August of 1983)

You still might be able to get to the stencil number if the boat has been painted but you will have to remove the paint where the stencil number lives.

I would also ask Boston Whaler about the number I gave you above. They can tell you where that boat was sold and/or shipped in the beginning. They could also give you the stencil number for that HIN.
