1989 20' outrage water bailing issues????...need help
i have a 1989 20' Outrage....I am having problems with finding where the water that collects in the forward compartment and in front of console under the deck is supposed to flow..Does it have to be bilged out?
Also i have a ton of water in the starboard hole near the stern where the fuel lines run through...i'd llke to know how to get it unclogged
the bilge pump switch on console is not working..where is the bilge pump located?
Both areas you describe should have brass drain tubes that will completely drain when underway or on a trailer. It is possible that someone plugged them from the bottom side or covered them completely.
Not sure about a 20' but my 1989 22' has a large well forward of the splash well that has a bilge pump in it. It also will self drain when the boat is underway. It also has a ping pong ball drain to the splash well.
The forward anchor locker drains into the large compartment forward of the console. The large one should have a bilge pump that drains through the starboard side. It also has a plug in there which will drain in while underway.
The starboard rear plug is in the shallow well. The brass drain might be clogged. Just put a hose over it and it should clear. One issue I had was a collapsed clamshell on the bottom where this tube drains. That will prevent you getting it cleared too.
