My husband is an avid fisherman and had a trolling motor installed when we ordered our 150 Montauk 2014. The dealer installed the trolling motor but we find it is a royal pain to get into the water due the the bow railings. He wants to remove the railing and we were wondering what is the best method to accomplish this? My suggestion is to just remove the railing and replace the ss screws back into the boat with silicone or some other waterproof sealant. Suggestions? Advice?

Have him take your suggestion. It is spot on.

It is recommended to use a marine polysulfide based sealant and not silicone or an adhesive like 3M 4200/5200.
