Help with fuel gauge sender unit 2000 Dauntless 14
Help...2000 BW Dauntless 14
Evidently I have a bad sending unit in my fuel tank. My Yamaha fuel gauge is testing OK.
Two questions please...The BW 12/14/1998 deck diagram shows a 6.5 inch access hole with
cover....I suppose under the seat/live bait well unit. Can anyone confirm this please?
Also..I tried to begin to remove the seat/bait well assemble by trying to remove the screws
around the bottom of the unit. All of the screws just turn.....they do not back out ??
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I thank you all in advance.

Worked it out myself.....
The bait well involved with the seat unit on a Dauntless 14 just
lifts out....( You must remove the two hoses....inlet and drain....)
This exposes a handy 6.5 inch access hole cover....positioned right
over the fuel sender unit. On this 2000 Dauntless 14 the original is
a WEMA 5 hole unit. www.wemausa.com has the new replacement for
$55. plus shipping....a stainless unit. Hope this helps someone else
sometime....
