Hello all. New owner of an 1985 13' sport. In process of making my templates for new interior wood and have come across a dilemma. On the current rails there are rubber circles set into the openings for the seats. Unsure if I need to do this?

For those of you who have replaced your wood, have you incorporated these into your replacement? Where did you get the piece? Right now my template has the rails resting on the seat but wondering if that will cause issues with creaking and the finish.

Thanks.

(please follow guideline #1 at the top of this page and use the full 4 digit year. thanks)

I have a 1982 13' Sport that I will be doing the same thing to. I plan to start working on it this weekend. I would be interested in knowing if these rubber circles are needed

Not needed. I don't think anyone has gone to the extreme of trying to find replacement gaskets that fit between the rails (clamps) and the seats (thwarts). They were there to prevent rattling. Just screw the clamps down hard over the thwarts. You could also cut a piece of rubber gasket material and glue it into the recess if you were worried about rattling.
